About Me

This is my first time blogging so I wanted to let you know a little about myself and what this blog is going to be about…

I’m 25, live in the UK and am currently applying for just about every publishing job I see advertised. I’m one of those people that always has a book in my bag, has stacks of books throughout their flat and arranges their bookshelves into a massive rainbow – yes, really.

There’s something so satisfying about a book rainbow.

I currently work as a bookseller in a big Oxford bookshop – a job which definitely has it’s pros and cons. I’m not the sort who needs a lot of convincing to buy the latest literary blockbusters and being surrounded by books has definitely taken a hit on my bank balance!

One of the hard things about working at a bookshop is that you don’t always get the opportunity to highlight the books you love the most, or to look into other nooks of the industry, like publishing trends and the amazing stories of some authors. Sometimes there’s also pressure to sell certain books, and that doesn’t really sit well with me…

So, that’s where this blog comes in!

Here I aim to share with you all my honest book reviews – the good and the bad – features on my favorite authors and to look at trends in the publishing industry to see what areas of publishing are doing well and which need a bit of TLC. Knowing me there’ll probably a few tangent articles too, but hopefully that just makes things more interesting!

I hope you enjoy the things I post here and I’m always happy to take any feedback or have a chat about books with fellow lit-lovers so don’t hesitate to get in touch for a personalised recommendation!
